Taiwan trade show calendar 2026-2027
Which fair you attend largely decides what you will find. The main shows in the coming months:
| Trade fair | Dates | Sector |
|---|---|---|
| Taichung hardware fair (IHT) | 20-22 October 2026 | Hand tools, hardware, fasteners |
| Taipei AMPA | 13-16 April 2027 | Auto parts, motorcycles, EV technology |
| Computex Taipei | 1-4 June 2027 | Computing, electronics, AI hardware |
| Food Taipei and FoodTech Taipei | 23-26 June 2027 | Food, beverages, food processing and packaging machinery |
| TaipeiPLAS | September 2028 (every two years) | Plastics, rubber, moulds and machinery |
Dates are based on organiser announcements as of 8 October 2026. The exact dates for TaipeiPLAS 2028 have not been announced yet. Check each fair's official site before you book travel.
Computex and AMPA are the two largest. If you are going to Computex, book your hotel at least two months in advance.
What you miss without Chinese
Most visitors assume everyone speaks English anyway. Large booths always have an English speaker. Even so, these slip past:
- The conversation behind the booth. While a sales rep talks to you in English, the technical team discusses in Chinese: "Can we do this price?", "Is there stock?", "Is this buyer serious?" Hearing that changes the negotiation.
- The real price floor. The list price given in English is usually a starting point. A Chinese speaker can find out how far it can go through other channels.
- Small exhibitors. The best supplier is sometimes at a small table in the corner. They may not speak English, but their product may be excellent.
- Meetings outside the hall. Many useful negotiations happen over dinner and coffee breaks, and those conversations happen in Chinese.
How to plan your meetings
Walking into the hall without a plan is tiring and unproductive. Prepare your list in advance:
- Download the exhibitor list from the fair's website at least three weeks before the show.
- Sort the companies into three groups: must visit, visit if possible, backup.
- Book meetings with priority companies by email or LINE. Messages written in Chinese get noticeably more replies.
- Plan no more than 30 minutes per meeting. Longer meetings tire both sides and cut the number of good conversations in a day.
- Leave time free around lunch each day for unplanned meetings and for sorting your notes.
Why a Chinese business card matters
Handing a Taiwanese manufacturer a Chinese business card earns trust in the first minute. Exchanging cards is a small ritual in Taiwanese business culture: offered with both hands, received with both hands, read, and not pocketed straight away.
Put the Chinese version of your company name, title and contact details on the card. Some print shops in Taipei turn cards around in 24 hours, but preparing them before you travel is easier.
If you can't attend
You don't need to attend every fair in person. Tell us which show you are interested in; we visit the manufacturers in your category, review the products, collect prices and request samples.
The report covers the companies visited, a price comparison, product photos, technical notes and a ranked supplier shortlist.

English is enough at large booths. To talk to smaller manufacturers, find the real price floor and follow up after the show, a Chinese speaker makes a clear difference.
